We’re seeking a Digital Content Marketing Specialist.

The Digital Content Marketing Specialist at Outdoor Norway, reporting to the Company Director, will manage and grow the company by executing the digital content strategies to drive audience acquisition, retention and engagement. You will enhance our core asset of summer data and deliver best in class digital content to drive audience engagement and conversion. The job will require agility, a data driven approach and dedication and passion to the Mountain Travel Lifestyle to be successful.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Research, write and edit new content, as well as update existing content for our websites
  • Proactively leverage analytics to execute content and content distribution strategies with the goal to improve audience engagement driving growth in traffic and email lists
  • Develop a thorough yearly content calendar 
  • Ensure the quality of reporting data
  • Maintain the site layout, data and content via the CMS
  • Optimize content distribution across all channels including SEO, SEM, social, app, and email
  • Execute and help to improve the SEO strategy
  • Create and send digital newsletters and push notifications
  • Manage social accounts, internal user generated content as well as user and resort feedback emails
  • Collaborate with the development team to improve user experience through A/B testing, page optimizations and improved hierarchy
  • Partner with sales and operations teams to create & deliver on content marketing products for our advertisers
  • Manage SEO writing
  • Knowledgeable of using content and web analytics tools (Google Analytics & Search Console)
  • Understanding of SEO and market dynamics

  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, tourism or related field
    • 3+ years’ experience in a related content environment at a digital publisher
    • Track record delivering measurable results based on analytics, problem solving, agility and collaboration
    • Excellent writing, editing, copy editing skills, attention to detail
    • Ability to effectively prioritize amid multiple competing agendas and projects
    • Experience in a KPI driven environment with a desire to test and learn

    Preferred prior experience with:

    • Data management platform
    • SEO tools such as SearchMetrics, KW Tool, Search Console
    • CMS and ticketing systems such as Fareharbor
    • A/B testing using tools such as Google Optimize and FB pixel.
    • Email expertise using MailChimp
    • Marketing experience with Hootsuite, Facebook Ad Manager, Instagram and AdWords

    Work Schedule: 80% to 100% Position. Candidates must be able to work some weekends during the season.

Job Overview

As a mountain bike instructor at Outdoor Norway you will be taking clients of differing abilities on a variety of terrain. You are expected to be an experienced rider, confident in all areas of riding, comfortable on steep, technical terrain and have basic bike maintenance skills. You must be flexible and adaptable to suit individual needs and abilities and be physically fit and able to ride for 5 hours a day.

Candidates must have excellent leadership and group management skills and be capable of  planning, organising and delivering mountain bike tours including the logistical side of the trip. Our mountain bike trips run regardless of the weather so you must be prepared to ride under rain or shine. We are looking for mountain bike instructors with continued enthusiasm and dedication.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • First and foremost, uphold our mission: “We create great memories for our guests”
  • Ensure the trip is run in a safe and in a timely manner
  • Be responsible and capable of  maintaining the bikes keeping them in good working order
  • Properly keep bike maintenance logs
  • Have the ability to effectively troubleshoot and fix problems that arise with guest bikes out on the trail
  • Engage with guests and be attentive to their needs
  • Provide some basic mountain bike instruction working on skills and technique
  • Be able to understand and read weather reports, monitor weather conditions and act accordingly
  • Must be able to lift, load and unload bikes from a trailer regularly throughout the day

  • Must have excellent spoken and written English skills

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH THE FOLLOWING

  • Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder
  • With great bike mechanic skills
  • A degree or equivalent in Outdoor Recreation
  • At least three years experience working in the outdoors and adventure tourism industries

Our Outdoor Recreation Reservations department helps hundreds of customers from all over the world plan memorable outdoor experiences.

Our Reservation Coordinators are true adventure experts. Their knowledge and experience help guide customers through the booking process over the phone or through email. They are able to answer in-depth questions about our tours and liaise with our operations team to ensure every customer has a positive experience, from the moment they first contact us to the day of their adventure.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Inbound and outbound sales online, via email and in person at frontdesk.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and handle all customer queries
  • Book adventures, take payments and correspond with customers
  • Manage reseller relationships, build contacts and maintain relationships with stakeholders
  • Develop positive relationships with customers and manage feedback effectively
  • Help support marketing and promotions to drive sales throughout the season
  • Greet clients and assist with the check-in process

Qualifications:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Norwegian language skills are a strong asset

JOB OVERVIEW

This role will require you to safely guided river trips on up to Grade III & IV whitewater.  

This person must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to deliver high levels of customer service, have great group management skills, be a strong critical thinker and have the ability to problem solve. You will need to be flexible and adaptable in tailoring trips to suit individual needs, abilities and expectations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

First and foremost, uphold our mission “Create great memories for our guests”

  • Ensure trips are run in a safe and timely manner
  • Reliable, self-motivated and enthusiastic with strong communication skills and the ability to talk with people from different cultures and backgrounds
  • Physically fit and enjoy being outdoors in all weathers
  • Cleaning and drying of client paddling gear (wetsuits, PFD’s, splash jackets and neoprene booties)
  • Ensure that vehicles are cleaned and fuelled as required after the tours
  • Maintain a clean and organised work space at base and storage room
  • Engage with guests and be attentive to their needs
  • Must be able to lift, load and unload rafts/kayaks from a trailer or to a car roof (the raft will be lifted by two persons, at time)
  • Must be able to work on team environment
  • To deliver informative trips educating guests about the local culture and history
  • Conduct tour talks while driving to locations and at viewing points along tour route
  • Be aware of weather forecast and monitor weather conditions:  river levels, wind, rain and air temperature

JOB OVERVIEW

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ATTRIBUTES:

  • Ensure trips are run in a safe and timely manner
  • Organise and assemble equipment required for each trip ie. mountain bikes, kayaks, canoes, standup paddle-boards, helmets and other gear as needed to guests
  • Assist senior guides where necessary
  • Guide commercial tour groups on Class I an II whitewater rivers
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations on and off the river
  • Provide a high level of service to clients on and off the river
  • Provide equipment maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and organised work space at the Outdoor Norway base and storage room
  • Be reliable, self-motivated, enthusiastic with good communication skills and the ability to talk with people from different cultures and backgrounds;
  • Have a  strong interest in learning and educating clients about the local culture and history
  • Be physically fit and happy to be outdoors all day in all weather conditions

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma in outdoor recreation or equivalent

JOB OVERVIEW

The Operations Manager primary responsibility is oversight of guide scheduling and trip capacity management for the river operations. As part of the leadership team, the manager will also assist in managing the day to day operations, training, recruiting, emergency response calls, and other special projects as needed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pre-season preparation of the business’ operational department

• Pre-season preparation of contingency and emergency plans

• Identify and delegate the needs of each rafting trip to river guides and trip leaders

• Staffing of river trips for both river guides and river drivers

• Provide risk assessment of technical procedures

• Organize and assemble equipment required for each trip

• Provide Trip Leader supervision and management

• Ensure a high level of service standard is met by all staff both on and off the water

• Client liaison — to liaise with clients and provide feedback to help marketing efforts

• Act as a Outdoor Norway representative by fostering a high standard of professionalism in every functions and tasks

• Understand and role model company policy and standards in every aspect of functions and tasks

• Assist the management team in the development of new products and methods

• Identify inefficiencies and help develop sound alternatives

• Human resource management on an ongoing

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Must hold a Trip Leaders rafting license (or equivalent) for a minimum of two active season

• Must hold current Swift-water Rescue Training level 3 or equivalent

• Must hold current 40-hour or higher, Wilderness First Aid or Occupational First Aid certification or equivalent

• Must be able to conceptualize planning objectives and communicate needs

• Strong communication skills are a must

• Thorough, on the spot decision making in a fast-paced environment is a necessary skill

• Thorough understanding of commercial river rafting standards

• Computer literate
