ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSABILITIES:

  • • Research, write and edit new content, as well as update existing content for our websites
  • • Proactively leverage analytics to execute content and content distribution strategies with the goal to improve audience engagement driving growth in traffic and email lists

Job Overview

As a mountain bike instructor at Outdoor Norway you will be taking clients of differing abilities on a variety of terrain. You are expected to be an experienced rider, confident in all areas of riding, comfortable on steep, technical terrain and have basic bike maintenance skills. You must be flexible and adaptable to suit individual needs and abilities and be physically fit and able to ride for 5 hours a day.

Candidates must have excellent leadership and group management skills and be capable of  planning, organising and delivering mountain bike tours including the logistical side of the trip. Our mountain bike trips run regardless of the weather so you must be prepared to ride under rain or shine. We are looking for mountain bike instructors with continued enthusiasm and dedication.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • First and foremost, uphold our mission: “We create great memories for our guests”
  • Ensure the trip is run in a safe and in a timely manner
  • Be responsible and capable of  maintaining the bikes keeping them in good working order
  • Properly keep bike maintenance logs
  • Have the ability to effectively troubleshoot and fix problems that arise with guest bikes out on the trail
  • Engage with guests and be attentive to their needs
  • Provide some basic mountain bike instruction working on skills and technique
  • Be able to understand and read weather reports, monitor weather conditions and act accordingly
  • Must be able to lift, load and unload bikes from a trailer regularly throughout the day

    JOB OVERVIEW

    This role will require you to safely guided river trips on up to Grade III & IV whitewater.  

    This person must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to deliver high levels of customer service, have great group management skills, be a strong critical thinker and have the ability to problem solve.     • Ensure that vehicles are cleaned and fuelled as required after the tours

    • Must be able to lift, load and unload rafts/kayaks from a trailer or to a car roof (the raft will be lifted by two persons, at time)

    JOB OVERVIEW

    • Organise and assemble equipment required for each trip ie. mountain bikes, kayaks, canoes, standup paddle-boards, helmets and other gear as needed to guests
    • Assist senior guides where necessary
    • Guide commercial tour groups on Class I an II whitewater rivers
    • Enforce safety rules and regulations on and off the river
    • Provide a high level of service to clients on and off the river
    • Provide equipment maintenance
    • Maintain a clean and organised work space at the Outdoor Norway base and storage room
    • Be reliable, self-motivated, enthusiastic with good communication skills and the ability to talk with people from different cultures and backgrounds;

    Our Reservation Coordinators are true adventure experts. Their knowledge and experience help guide customers through the booking process over the phone or through email. They are able to answer in-depth questions about our tours and liaise with our operations team to ensure every customer has a positive experience, from the moment they first contact us to the day of their adventure.

    Responsibilities & Duties:

    • Inbound and outbound sales online, via email and in person at frontdesk.
    • Provide outstanding customer service and handle all customer queries
    • Book adventures, take payments and correspond with customers
    • Manage reseller relationships, build contacts and maintain relationships with stakeholders
    • Develop positive relationships with customers and manage feedback effectively
    • Help support marketing and promotions to drive sales throughout the season
    • Greet clients and assist with the check-in process

    Work Schedule: Our reservations office is open from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Sunday, with extended hours in peak season, from 9am to 6pm. Training time is flexible and shall take 2 days. Candidates must be able to work weekends. Hours will vary month to month (part-time hours offered in September and October /full-time hours offered during July, and August).

    Compensation: Hourly wage based on experience.
