HIGH QUALITY GEAR

For the best possible experience

MOuntain bikes: merida ONE-SIXTY 500

The One-Sixty is a radical, all-new design that pushes Merida's hard-hitting enduro platform to new heights. Just as well, because once it’s there it’s ready to rip the longest, toughest descents too. Merida's new suspension system uses a flexstay design with an adjustable rocker, so whether you choose to run it as a full 29er (162mm travel) or mixed 29/27.5” setup (171mm travel), the geometry is preserved. There’s a radically steep 79° seat tube angle for goat-like climbing and slack 64° head angle plus 170mm fork to deal with downhill trail chaos. New sizing allows riders to run a longer or shorter reach frame independently of their height, while suspension becomes more progressive as you size up, all with long-travel dropper posts. Wire Port cable routing plus reliable threaded bottom bracket round out the package, while carbon frame models offer on-board tool storage and FidLock magnetic bottle cages.

Will I fall off the canoe? What should I do if I do fall?

It's very common to fall into the water in water actvities. Before you go on any trip, you’ll be given extensive instructions on what to do if you fall in, and how to get back to your board and climb back on. Follow your guide’s instructions, and your 'swim' could be the most exciting part of your trip and a great story to tell your friends afterwards!

Can I take a dog with me for kayaking?

Yes, absolutely! We have a high quality triple kayak from Prijon, which fits 2 people and your furry friend! Just let us know in advance, and we will make sure that the kayak is reserved for you!

Is the bike included in the tour package?

Yes it is! The mountain bike is included, saving you the hassle of bringing your own bike across continents. ;)

Can I use my own gear for mountain biking, such as helmet, pedals or gloves?

Yes, absolutely!

Our mountain bikes are equipped with standard flat pedals featuring pins. However, we also offer clip-in SPD and Crankbrothers pedals for those who prefer using clip-in shoes.

If you wish to utilize your own pedals and/or saddle, kindly bring them along, and upon your arrival, we'll happily replace them for you.

To ensure we accommodate your preferences smoothly, please notify us in advance by replying to your booking confirmation email. This way, we can prepare accordingly for your visit.

Should I tip my guide?

Tipping isn't customary in Norway, as it is e.g. in the USA. Our guides put in considerable effort to ensure your experience is both enjoyable and safe, maintaining the high standards set by Outdoor Norway.

While tipping is recognized as a standard practice in the industry and is always welcomed, it's never an obligation. It's entirely up to your discretion whether you choose to leave a tip. Your appreciation for the service provided is greatly valued either way.

Can I leave my bag/luggage at the base?

Yes absolutely, that's not an issue at all.

We have shelves available for storing your belongings while you're out on a tour. Rest assured, there's always a member of our staff present at the base, so your items will be securely looked after— nothing goes missing on our watch!

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes.

Upon joining any activity, a waiver acknowledging risks must be read and signed. For minors, a parent or guardian is required to sign the waiver.
