In our Canada Ski Tour, we’ll visit some of British Columbia’s best ski resorts, a powder paradise. The trip begins in Calgary where we meet up and head off for good times. We have targeted the unique BC resorts of Fernie, Whitewater, Red Mountain, Revelstoke and Kicking Horse.

All resorts are connected with small towns, big opportunities, monster burgers and inspiring mountains to explore with knowledgeable guides.

Our travel concept is based on the feeling of traveling with like-minded friends, all with the goal of having the best ski tour as possible in the powder, trees and off-piste. This is regardless of whether you are traveling alone, as a couple or with a larger group of friends.

What to bring with you

If you’re in need of equipment see our rental offers table below or please contact our staff to discuss the rental options in our area. Otherwise, minimum gear requirements include:

  • Skis with walk bindings (alpine touring, Telemark or split-board set up)
  • Climbing skins
  • Ski boots, poles & helmet
  • Avalanche safety kit (transceiver, shovel, probe)
  • Personal backpack 
    (items above you can rent from us, prices below)
  • Shell jacket with hood (water & windproof)
  • Shell pants or bibs
  • Down or synthetic jacket
  • Mid-layer sweater or vest (if its too cold)
  • Base layers, wool is best

Along the way we staying in different motels with large clean rooms, twin beds and fast internet. Television and other amenities are available and many have a hot tub for hotel guests.


Internet is available in all accommodations.


Aside from lunches and dinners, there are no required additional expenses for this trip, but you might like to take spending money for such things as souvenir shopping and nightlife.


Laundry is available most nights. Please talk to your Guides to arrange.


Breakfast is included in the tour package. 

Lunches  we’ll take at the ski resort we’re visiting. Costs not included are $15-$25 CAD per lunch or you can bring your own snack as you like. 

Dinners are also not included however we will eat together in the fine places that our guides recommend. Approx. $20 – 25 CAD per dinner in local restaurants.

In order to secure your spot, a 50% deposit is required to secure a place on one of Outdoor Norway Multiday tours.


After making the booking reservation, you can cancel at any point during the first 45 days after booking. This buys you 6 weeks to sort out flights, vacation time, etc. and not have to worry about someone else taking your spot(s).

The final 50% has to be paid 45 days after the booking date. We will sent a payment link to your email.


We do not book international flights for our clients.  A great tool we use to view different flight options at the best available rates is Google Flights or Kayak.com.

We will be offering airport pick-up from Calgary International Airport on Day 1 at 4:00 p.m.
Our Guides will be holding a sign with our company name on it.

It is a 4-hour drive to Fernie. We do not offer airport pick-up prior to Day 1 or outside of the scheduled time listed above.


On Day 10, your guides will be doing drop offs at the Acclaim Hotel Calgary Airport at 3:15 p.m. or at the Calgary International Airport at 3:30 p.m.
If staying a few extra days, we recommend staying at the Acclaim Hotel Calgary Airport.   Visit their website using this link to book extra hotel nights.
Drop-offs will be offered on Day 10 only. If you wish to extend your staying you must arrange transportation yourself.

Our Lifetime Guarantee allows any of our Clients forced to delay a departure or wanting to switch tour packages altogether the ability to apply their initial deposit towards a later scheduled date or another Person at no extra charge. As long as you give us 61 days’ notice, your deposit will be good forever, whether you use it for the same trip or transfer it to another one. A Lifetime Guarantee has no expiration date and can be used for any departure – provided room is still available, and the accommodation availability you are welcome to join in another departure.

Simply put, we want to ensure you can enjoy the Outdoor Norway experience you want, at a time that works best for you.

A Lifetime Guarantee is also transferable, meaning that you can transfer your deposit to another Friend as a gift or for a fee, it's up to you.


Any cancellations made within 60 days of the scheduled departure will be treated as a passenger cancellation, in which case the entire payment, will be forfeited and cannot be applied to another departure. Please see our cancellation terms and conditions for Multiday tours.

What is the best time to go skiing in British Columbia, Canada?

It all relies on Mother Nature! Statistical data indicates that February and March typically experience the highest average snowfall in BC, but the season extends beyond that!

What should I bring with me for a ski tour in British Columbia, Canada?

Before your activity, you will receive a detailed list of recommended items to bring, including appropriate clothing and gear for the activity. This typically encompasses recommended clothing and gear such as:

Ski jacket and pants, hardshell, gloves, hat, hiking boots
Woolen underlayers and socks
Skin protection against cold
Powder skis with a wide width underfoot. The width and lenght depends on your skills, weight and height.
Ski poles
Transceiver (its possible to rent)
Snacks & water

Do I need prior experience to go on a ski tour in BC?

Yes, prior skiing experience in off-piste terrain is required.

If your experience is limited, please get in touch with us as we might be able to organize a tailored tour or itinerary for you and your group.

Do I need to be physically fit to go skiing?

We suggest that all our guests have good physical health for skiing activities.

If you have any medical concerns but still wish to go skiing, we advise consulting with your doctor beforehand for your safety. Remember to always ski according to your own skill and fitness level.

Is this skiing trip suitable for seniors?

Our backcountry skiing tours have no maximum age limit; as long as you're physically fit, and you are enthusiastic, you're welcome to join!

Should I tip my guide?

Tipping isn't customary in Norway, as it is e.g. in the USA. Our guides put in considerable effort to ensure your experience is both enjoyable and safe, maintaining the high standards set by Outdoor Norway.

While tipping is recognized as a standard practice in the industry and is always welcomed, it's never an obligation. It's entirely up to your discretion whether you choose to leave a tip. Your appreciation for the service provided is greatly valued either way.

Do I need to sign a waiver?


Upon joining any activity, a waiver acknowledging risks must be read and signed. For minors, a parent or guardian is required to sign the waiver.
