Tour Highlights
Who Is This Norway Yoga Retreat Designed For?
This retreat is ideal for travellers who enjoy staying active while making time to rest and recharge.
You don't need to be an experienced yogi or an advanced hiker to join. Our Norway Yoga retreat is designed for people who appreciate nature, enjoy moderate outdoor adventures, and want a holiday that leaves them feeling energised rather than exhausted. The small-group format creates a welcoming and supportive atmosphere throughout the week.
Why Choose a Norway Yoga Retreat?
Most yoga retreats take place on tropical beaches or secluded resorts. Norway has something completely different for you.
Instead of escaping the world, you'll reconnect with it among towering mountains, crystal-clear fjords, ancient forests, and landscapes that invite you to slow down naturally. Every day brings a mix of purposeful movement with unforgettable scenery, an experience that nurtures both body and mind.
Rather than spending hours inside a retreat centre, you'll explore one of Europe's most spectacular outdoor destinations while enjoying the comfort, support, and structure of a carefully designed wellness journey.
Why Voss and Fjord Norway Are Perfect for a Wellness Escape
Few places in the world combine dramatic natural beauty with outdoor adventure opportunities quite like Voss and Fjord Norway.
Within walking distance we have UNESCO-listed fjords, mountain trails, peaceful lakes, waterfalls, and charming villages, so we can make every day feel completely different from the last.
The region's deep connection to outdoor living naturally complements yoga, which lets us create a retreat where adventure and relaxation exist in perfect balance.
When Is the Best Time to Join a Yoga Retreat in Norway?
The best time to experience yoga retreats in Norway is between late spring and early autumn (Mid June to Mid September)
This is when long daylight hours, comfortable temperatures, and snow-free mountain trails combine to create ideal conditions for outdoor activities. However, every season offers its own unique character, and each retreat is a memorable way to experience Norway. Many of our visitors choose to come back in a different season!
The adventure, day by day
Day 1 – Welcome to Voss
Theme: Arrive. Exhale. Slow down.
Your journey begins with a scenic transfer from Bergen to Voss, where mountains, rivers, and lakes replace airports and busy streets. After settling into your boutique accommodation, you'll stretch your legs with a gentle walk along Lake Vangsvatnet before gathering for a relaxed welcome dinner featuring local Norwegian produce.
As the evening draws in, your first yoga session gently releases the tension of travel and prepares both body and mind for the week ahead.

Day 2 – Move with the Landscape
Theme: Wake the body. Discover the water.
The day begins with an energising morning yoga practice before heading onto the calm waters surrounding Voss. Depending on conditions, you'll enjoy either stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking, moving quietly through mountain reflections while your guides introduce you to Norway's outdoor culture.
After a picnic lunch, you'll explore peaceful forest trails on an easy afternoon hike before ending the day with a calming sunset yoga session overlooking the surrounding landscape.
Our Day 2 is an intentionally gentle day to allow you to build confidence before the retreat's bigger adventures.

Day 3 – The Signature Fjord Experience
Theme: Paddle the fjord. Climb the mountain.
This is the heart of the retreat.
An early transfer brings you to Gudvangen, where you'll begin one of Outdoor Norway's signature experiences: kayaking through the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord. Towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and remarkable silence accompany your journey as you paddle towards the small village of Bakka.
Before beginning the climb, your yoga teacher guides the group through a short breathwork and meditation session beside the fjord, creating a mindful transition from water to mountain.
From here, the adventure continues with the ascent to Bakkanosi (1,398 m), one of Norway's most spectacular viewpoints. Standing high above the same fjord you paddled only hours earlier is a moment few travellers ever experience.
After returning to Voss, you'll unwind with a traditional sauna and optional fjord swim before enjoying a well-earned dinner together.
For guests who prefer not to kayak, a comfortable vehicle transfer to Bakka is available so anyone can enjoy the hike without missing the day's main experience.

Day 4 – Rest, Recover & Reconnect
Theme: Honour your body.
Following the retreat's biggest adventure, today is dedicated to recovery.
A long restorative yoga practice helps loosen tired muscles before you enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a slower pace. Later, choose between an easy waterfall walk, a refreshing swim, or simply relaxing with a book beside the lake.
The afternoon introduces you to Norwegian food culture with a visit to a local farm or cidery, depending on the season, before another sauna session and a relaxed group dinner.
Recovery isn't a break from the retreat, but an essential part of it.

Day 5 – Across the High Mountains
Theme: Journey across Norway's high country.
After breakfast, you'll board one of the world's most scenic railways as the Bergen Line carries you into the mountains.
From Hallingskeid Station, your second signature hike begins.
This spectacular traverse crosses the wild landscapes of the Hardanger plateau before gradually descending towards Osa, immersing you in alpine terrain, open mountain scenery, and peaceful birch forests along the way. Unlike the steep ascent of Bakkanosi, today's route is about distance, rhythm, and immersion in Norway's vast wilderness.
Following the hike, the Outdoor Norway crew transfers the group back to Voss for a hot meal, gentle stretching, and a restful evening.

Day 6 – Your Day, Your Pace
Theme: Take it all in.
As the retreat begins to wind down, today gives you the freedom to experience Norway your way.
After an uplifting morning yoga practice, choose between a relaxed walk along the fjord, another peaceful paddle on the water, or a visit to a traditional Hardanger cidery or local farm. The slower pace allows time for reflection, conversation, or simply enjoying the landscapes that have become your home over the past week.
The retreat concludes with a sunset Yin yoga session followed by a celebratory farewell dinner, where the group shares stories, laughter, and memories from an unforgettable week together.

Day 7 – Take Norway Home With You
Theme: Carry the journey forward.
Your final morning begins with one last yoga practice, designed to be simple enough to continue long after you return home. After brunch together, it's time to say goodbye to new friends and the landscapes that have shaped the past seven days.
From Voss, you'll board the famous Bergen Line towards Bergen Airport or continue your Norwegian adventure to Oslo, carrying home not only incredible memories, but a renewed sense of energy, perspective, and connection.
Sometimes the most meaningful journeys don't end when you leave. They continue long after you've returned home.

You should have a moderate level of fitness and feel comfortable spending several hours outdoors each day. The retreat includes two rewarding mountain hikes lasting between 6 and 10 hours, completed at a relaxed pace with regular breaks and support from experienced guides.
If you enjoy walking, stay generally active, and have completed a few full-day hikes before, you'll be well prepared. Once you book your Norway yoga retreat, we'll send you a detailed pre-trip guide with fitness recommendations, packing advice, and helpful tips to ensure you arrive feeling confident and ready for the adventure.
Absolutely. Every session on this trip is designed to be accessible and adaptable for both beginners and seasoned yoga practitioners.
Our certified instructors teach in English and balance energising Vinyasa flows in the mornings with restorative Yin yoga and guided breathwork in the evenings. Rather than focusing on advanced poses or heavily spiritual practices, the yoga supports your hiking, kayaking, and overall wellbeing throughout the week, helping you move better and recover more effectively.
Definitely, and you'll be in good company!
Many guests join our Norway yoga retreat on their own. We run the trip with a maximum group size of just 10–12 participants so you can get to know like-minded travellers while still enjoying plenty of personal space. Some moments are shared around the dinner table or on the trail, while others allow quiet reflection in nature.
Accommodation is based on comfortable twin-share rooms, with single rooms available for an additional supplement.
Weather is part of everyday life in Norway, and it's also part of the adventure.
Our experienced guides continuously monitor conditions and always prioritise safety. If weather affects the original plan, we'll adjust the itinerary with alternative hikes, indoor yoga sessions, or different outdoor experiences that still showcase the best of Fjord Norway.
We'll also send you a detailed packing list before departure so you're fully prepared for Norway's ever-changing mountain weather.
Our Norway yoga retreat has been designed so you can focus entirely on the experience while we take care of pretty much all of the logistics.
The price includes six nights of accommodation, daily yoga sessions, all guided activities, two signature mountain hikes, guided fjord kayaking, sauna experiences, all transport throughout the retreat, breakfasts, most lunches and dinners, certified yoga instructors and Outdoor Norway guides, plus all activity and safety equipment.
Flights, travel insurance, personal hiking clothing, beverages, and optional add-ons are not included.
Every destination offers something different, but Norway provides a combination that's difficult to find anywhere else.
Within a single week, you'll experience UNESCO-listed fjords, dramatic mountain trails, peaceful forests, crystal-clear lakes, authentic Nordic sauna culture, and one of Europe's most spectacular outdoor regions.
Rather than staying in a purpose-built resort, you'll be based in Voss, Norway's adventure capital, where outdoor culture is part of everyday life and every experience is led by knowledgeable local guides.
Yes, and many of our guests do.
Bergen is just over an hour away by train, so many of our visitors spend a few extra days exploring Norway's colourful coastal city before the retreat begins.
Others continue their journey on the world-famous Bergen Railway towards Oslo, often considered one of the most scenic train journeys in Europe.
If you'd like to extend your holiday, we're happy to provide recommendations to help you make the most of your time in Norway.
